How to Forgive Even If You’re Still Angry, Still Hurt, and Still Don’t Understand
Forgiveness is the hardest command Jesus ever gave us. Because it doesn’t feel fair. It doesn’t feel possible. And it certainly doesn’t feel finished when the pain is still raw.
“Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.’” — Matthew 18:21–22 (NIV)
Forgiveness Isn’t Forgetting
God doesn’t ask us to erase memories.
Forgiveness is obedience, not amnesia.
Forgiveness Is Freedom
It sets you free from bitterness and revenge.
The other person may never change—but you will.
Forgiveness Is a Process
Sometimes daily. Sometimes moment by moment.
Anchor it in prayer: “Lord, help me choose forgiveness again today.”
Closing Thought
You don’t have to wait until you feel like forgiving. Start with obedience. Let God handle the healing.
